We are seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician with experience in diesel mechanics and general building maintenance. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing facility systems, grounds, vehicles, generators, and diesel-powered equipment while responding to routine and emergency maintenance needs.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can diagnose mechanical issues, perform building repairs, and keep our operations safe, reliable, and running efficiently.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, equipment, and diesel-powered vehicles or machinery
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, generators, pumps, motors, hydraulics, and related equipment
- Complete general building repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC-related tasks
- Inspect and maintain facility systems, tools, safety equipment, and grounds
- Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic tools, service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Repair doors, locks, lighting, fixtures, walls, flooring, and other building components
- Perform routine inspections and document completed work
- Respond to equipment failures and urgent facility maintenance requests
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable environmental requirements
Required Qualifications
- Experience in facilities maintenance, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related trade
- Working knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems
- Ability to perform general building maintenance and repairs
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read technical manuals, equipment diagrams, and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance records
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, kneel, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical training or certification in diesel technology, building maintenance, or a related field
- Experience maintaining generators or emergency power systems
- Welding or fabrication experience
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry experience
Pay Range: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
